| Creative bake sale packaging? |
[28 Aug 2008|06:51am] |
Sorry for the text only post. I'm running out of energy and inspiration. Next week is a charity bake sale that I'll be participating in. I'm not sure how many gourmet cookies I'll donate--there probably won't be any decorated ones--but I'd like a creative way to present them. Does anyone have any ideas? Links and photos are really, really appreciated.
ETA: I do not want to individually vacuum seal them.

Hi all, sorry to spam with two posts in one day, but this time I have a question.
I got a half a yard of super amazing awesome-sauce dinosaur fabric at the store today, and after making my ball jointed doll a little blanket, i'll have a lot of fabric left over.
I am in LOVE with this fabric and I was wondering if anybody had ideas of interesting things I could do with the rest? I dont really have any books I could cover, and making something like a pillow seems like such a waste. I also dont want to make a stuffed dinosaur because I really just dont need one.
I'd love to come up with something that would allow me to keep the fabric close to me...I wish I had bought enough to make a tiny little throw-blanket for myself but I didnt.
Currently its draped over the top of my head just because.
Any ideas crafty-chics?

Earlier today my mom and I went out and she spotted a shirt she really liked, but it was too much for either of us to afford. So instead of buying the top, we went to the craft section and bought 2 yards of fabric from the dollar bin. Then after we came home I made her an ADORABLE top! Here is the end result. The entire thing was made with no pattern and lots of luck. =3 I haven't sewn anything human sized in about 6 years!

Hello...I have short hair and wear a lot of large earrings, mostly with the curved hook-type tops. I want to make some sort of earring holder that's a bit more exciting than throwing them in a box or dish...I was thinking of finding some sort of mesh to hang them in maybe? Something that lets them hang and be seen...Any ideas or examples????? Thanks in advance!!!

| Lolli-review n' news! |
[27 Aug 2008|01:36pm] |
I'm in the process of gathering up all new Lolligag reviews n' blurbs from the web. It's a little early for 'Out Of Perversity Join Hands' since it's hot off the press and are in the process of getting promotion together, but Ryan found this live review today and sent it to me and it just made my day! We've only played 5 shows total now and it had been nearly 7 months since the last one, so it was nice!! I think we were both worried about messing up, at least I was...... I had lyrics written on my hands! HA HA!
From our Aug 15th Athens Popfest show!
"After experiencing two excellent sets from both Ruby Isle and The Buddy System, I wasn’t sure how Athens based duo The Lolligags would stack up considering I had no idea what their sound was all about. I was tired and ready to head to the back to relax for a bit, but luckily, I decided to stick around - which i’m so incredibly glad that I did. The first thing I noticed right away was vocalist Dallion Lollihag, who took the stage with heart-shaped sunglasses and a bit of a swagger, with a voice that echoes a little Siouxsie along with a whole lot of sass. Unfortunately, all of my photos are complete crap since the lighting was sorta terrible during their set.
The duo (the other half, RG Lollifag) primarily played songs off of their upcoming EP Out Of Perversity Join Hands, which I happened to pick up along with their previous EP titled Wired. The Lolligags definitely left a positive impression on me with their highly addictive disco sounding electro-pop, as i’ve been playing both EPs constantly for the past week and a half. Quite simply, I am now a big fan, so here’s to hoping for a full-length sometime in the future. The forthcoming EP will be out on Happy Happy Birthday To Me on September 29.
There are a couple of new tracks off the upcoming EP on the band’s myspace page, so I highly recommend you check those out." www.yellowstereo.com

In other Lolligag news (while we are on the topic) I've decided to book a few shows without Ryan before CMJ to try and promote the new EP and get the vocal cords warmed up! Ryan only has so much vacation time and most of that was spent in recording, so I will strap my laptop to my back and fly solo for a bit, but when Ryan can play he will!!!! There is also talk of an ex Of Montreal member who MAY be a new Lolligag member...... Hmmmm? :D More soon!
